Privacy policy
Introduction
We consider the protection of personal data important. In this privacy policy we explain which personal data House of Devs B.V. collects, uses and processes, for which purposes we do so and which rights you have.
In many cases you can use our website without actively sharing personal data with us. For some services, such as contact requests, registration or newsletter sign-ups, processing personal data may be necessary. If there is no legal basis for this, we generally ask for your consent first.
We take technical and organizational measures to protect personal data as well as possible. At the same time, data transmission over the internet is never entirely without risk. You can therefore also share personal data with us in another way, for example by telephone.

3. Cookies
Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device through your browser.
Many cookies contain a unique cookie ID. This allows a website to recognize your browser and to remember settings or preferences. Cookies help us make our website more user-friendly. Think for example of remembering login details or the contents of a shopping cart.
You can block the placement of cookies at any time through your browser settings. You can also delete cookies that have already been stored. Please note that some features of our website may work less well or not at all when cookies are disabled.
4. Collection of general data and information
When you visit our website, we automatically collect general data and information in server log files. This may include, for example:
- the browser type and version used;
- the operating system used;
- the website from which you came to our website;
- the subpages you visit;
- the date and time of access;
- the IP address;
- the internet provider of the system used;
- other comparable technical data that may be relevant in the event of attacks on our systems.
We do not use this data to draw conclusions about your identity. The data is necessary to offer our website correctly, to optimize the content and the advertisements, to safeguard the security and availability of our systems and, if necessary, to provide information for a criminal investigation after a cyberattack. The log data is stored separately from personal data that you actively provide to us.
5. Registration on our website
You can register on our website by entering personal data. Which data is processed depends on the form in question.
The personal data you enter is collected and stored solely for internal use and for the purposes of House of Devs B.V. Where necessary, we may pass this data on to processors acting on our behalf.
On registration, the IP address assigned by your internet provider and the time of registration are also stored. This data helps to prevent misuse of our services and, if necessary, to investigate criminal offences. The data is only shared with third parties if there is a legal obligation to do so or when this is necessary for a criminal investigation.
Registered users can have their personal data changed or deleted at any time, insofar as statutory retention obligations allow.
6. Subscription to our newsletter
Users can sign up for our newsletter through our website. Which personal data is processed for this is shown on the sign-up form.
We use the data solely to send the newsletter and, if necessary, to inform you about changes to the newsletter or technical circumstances around its distribution. We use a double opt-in procedure for the sign-up. This means that after signing up you first receive a confirmation email.
When you sign up for the newsletter we also store the IP address and the time of registration. That helps us to demonstrate and prevent any misuse of an email address.
You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in the newsletter or by contacting us.
7. Newsletter tracking
Our newsletter may contain tracking pixels. These are small graphic elements in HTML emails that allow us to see whether an email has been opened and which links have been clicked.
We use this information to analyze the performance of our newsletters and to tailor future newsletters better to the interests of recipients. The personal data collected in this way is not provided to third parties.
You can withdraw your consent for newsletter tracking at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. After withdrawal we delete the data concerned insofar as this is possible and permitted.
8. Contact options through the website
Our website contains information that allows you to contact us quickly by electronic means, for example by email or through a contact form.
When you contact us, the personal data you voluntarily provide is stored automatically. We use this data solely to process your question or request and to contact you. We do not provide this data to third parties.
9. Subscribing to comments on the blog
Comments on blog articles can be followed by third parties. This allows someone to subscribe to follow-up comments on a specific article.
If you choose that option, we send a confirmation email through a double opt-in procedure to check that the owner of the email address provided actually made the sign-up. You can unsubscribe from this subscription at any time.
10. Routine deletion and blocking of personal data
We process and store personal data only for as long as this is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or for as long as a statutory retention period requires.
As soon as the purpose ceases to apply or the statutory retention period expires, personal data is routinely deleted or blocked in accordance with the applicable statutory provisions.
11. Rights of data subjects
Under the GDPR you have, among others, the following rights:
- Right to confirmation: you may ask whether we process personal data about you.
- Right of access: you may request information free of charge about the personal data we hold about you, including the purpose of the processing, the categories of data, the recipients, the retention period, the origin of the data and any transfer outside the EU.
- Right to rectification: you may have inaccurate personal data corrected and incomplete data completed.
- Right to erasure: in certain cases you may request the deletion of your personal data, for example if the data is no longer necessary or has been processed unlawfully.
- Right to restriction of processing: you may ask us to limit the processing temporarily, for example while the accuracy of the data is being verified.
- Right to data portability: you may receive the personal data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and, in certain cases, have it transferred to another controller.
- Right to object: you may object to processing based on a legitimate interest, including direct marketing.
- Right regarding automated decision-making: you have the right not to be subject solely to automated decision-making or profiling with legal effects or similarly significant consequences, except in the exceptions permitted by law.
- Right to withdraw consent: if processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
- Right to lodge a complaint: you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
If you want to exercise one of these rights, please contact us. We assess your request carefully and handle it within the applicable statutory time limits.
12. Data protection for applications and recruitment procedures
We collect and process personal data of applicants in order to handle recruitment procedures. This processing may also take place electronically, for example when application documents are submitted by email or through a web form.
If an application leads to an employment contract, we keep the data provided insofar as this is necessary for the performance of the employment relationship and insofar as the law requires it. If no employment contract is concluded, we delete application data in principle no later than two months after the rejection, unless a legitimate interest justifies a longer retention period, for example in connection with an evidential position.
13. Data protection in relation to Facebook
This website may include Facebook components, such as plug-ins. Facebook is a social network that allows users to communicate online and share content.
When a page with a Facebook component is opened, your browser may automatically send information to Facebook. If you are logged in to Facebook at the same time, Facebook can link your visit to our website to your Facebook account. If you do not want Facebook to make this link, log out of Facebook before you visit our website.
You can find more information about how Facebook processes personal data in Facebook's privacy policy: https://facebook.com/about/privacy/.
14. Data protection in relation to Google AdSense
Our website may use Google AdSense. This makes it possible to tailor advertisements on websites to content and interests.
Google AdSense may use cookies and tracking pixels. This allows, among other things, the IP address, information about website visits and interactions with advertisements to be processed. That data may also be stored and processed in the United States.
You can block the use of cookies through your browser settings. You can find more information about Google AdSense at https://www.google.com/intl/en/adsense/start/.
15. Data protection in relation to Google Analytics
Our website may use Google Analytics to analyze visitor flows and use of the website. This may collect information about, among other things, the pages visited, the origin of visitors, the time spent and IP addresses.
As far as possible we use anonymization, so that IP addresses are truncated within the European Union or the European Economic Area before further processing takes place.
Google Analytics uses cookies to make these analyses possible. You can block the use of cookies through your browser settings and you can optionally install a browser add-on from Google to prevent data collection by Google Analytics. You can find more information at https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/ and https://www.google.com/analytics/.
16. Data protection in relation to Instagram
This website may include Instagram components. Instagram makes it possible to share photos and videos and to distribute them further through social networks.
When a page with an Instagram component is opened, your browser may automatically send information to Instagram. If you are logged in to Instagram at the same time, Instagram can link your visit to our website to your account. If you do not want this, log out of Instagram before you visit our website.
You can find more information about how Instagram processes personal data at https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388 and https://www.instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/.
17. Data protection in relation to X
This website may include X components. X is a publicly accessible platform for short messages.
When a page with an X component is opened, your browser may automatically send information to X. If you are logged in to X at the same time, X can link your visit to our website to your account. If you do not want that, log out of X before you visit our website.
You can find more information about the privacy rules of X at https://x.com/en/privacy.
18. Legal basis for the processing
We process personal data solely on the basis of a valid legal ground. That can be, among others:
- Consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, for example when you explicitly agree to a specific processing operation.
- Performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, for example when processing is necessary to deliver services or to prepare a contract.
- Legal obligation under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR, for example to comply with tax or administrative obligations.
- Protection of vital interests under Article 6(1)(d) GDPR, in exceptional situations.
- Legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, insofar as our interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
19. Legitimate interests
Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest consists of being able to run our business activities responsibly, securing our systems and improving our services, while respecting your privacy rights.
20. Retention period for personal data
The retention period for personal data is determined by the purpose of the processing and the applicable statutory retention periods. After the relevant period has expired, we routinely delete personal data, unless further storage is necessary for the performance or conclusion of a contract or because of a legal obligation.
21. Provision of personal data as a statutory or contractual requirement
Sometimes you are legally or contractually required to provide personal data to us. This may be necessary, for example, to conclude or perform a contract with you.
If you do not provide the personal data required for this, a contract may not be able to be concluded or performed. Before you provide personal data, you can always contact us if you have questions about whether it is necessary and about the possible consequences of not providing data.
22. Existence of automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that has legal effects or that similarly significantly affects you.
